Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss several international issues. According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, both officials agreed to continue diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war through a negotiated settlement.
During their meeting, Rubio and Cooper also highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation in Syria. They discussed the implementation of Phase Two of the President’s Gaza peace plan. Both leaders emphasized their shared commitment to securing a humanitarian truce in Sudan.
