A man from Mt. Vernon, Ohio, has been sentenced to 42 months in prison for making threats against law enforcement and illegally possessing a firearm. Jerime Graham-Woods, 34, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge James R. Knepp after pleading guilty in November to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and interstate communications with a threat to injure.

Graham-Woods will also serve three years of supervised release following his imprisonment.

According to court documents, between June and September 2023, Graham-Woods posted several threatening comments on a popular social media platform. He made statements such as: “I can’t wait to be a part of the violent revolution;” “I can’t wait to start shooting law enforcement;” “lotta bodies in my future;” and “I’m very much for shooting police.” He also encouraged others with comments like: “start killing politicians,” “start killing federal agents,” “let’s just show the government what all of our guns are for. Stop talking and start loading,” and “start shooting.”

During the investigation, authorities found a video online showing Graham-Woods firing a Heckler & Koch model MP5SD 9mm submachine gun at an indoor range. Due to his prior misdemeanor domestic violence conviction from 2012, he was prohibited from possessing firearms.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the FBI Toledo Resident Agency investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Frank H. Spryszak prosecuted it for the Northern District of Ohio.
