A Portland man pleaded guilty on March 12 in U.S. District Court in Bangor to two firearms-related offenses.

According to court records, Jeissey Khamis, age 19, made false statements to a federal firearms licensee in Charleston, Maine, in April 2025 while attempting to purchase a Glock pistol. The false statements involved his identity, age, and place of birth. Later that month, Khamis was found with a different pistol that he knew had been stolen from the same licensee. Investigators seized the firearm during the execution of a state search warrant at Khamis’s college dormitory room in Windham.

Khamis faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and up to three years of supervised release for making false statements. For possession of the stolen firearm charge, he faces up to ten years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and up to three years of supervised release. Sentencing will take place after the U.S. Probation Office completes a presentence investigative report. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case with assistance from the South Portland and Portland police departments.
