The U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources announced its schedule for the week, including a full committee hearing set for Thursday, March 18, at 9:30 a.m., according to a March 18 statement.
The upcoming hearing will focus on the Department of Energy’s implementation of President Trump’s May 2025 executive orders related to nuclear energy. The session aims to provide oversight and gather information from key officials and industry leaders involved in the nation’s nuclear energy policy.
Scheduled witnesses include Theodore J. Garrish, Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy; Dr. John C. Wagner, Director of Idaho National Laboratory; and Dr. Mike Laufer, Co-founder and CEO of Kairos Power.
The committee said the hearing will be webcast live on its website, with an archived video available shortly after it concludes. Witness testimony will also be posted online at the start of the hearing.
