Clearfield County resident sentenced to over 10 years for drug trafficking offenses

Brandon Kifer, a resident of Morrisdale, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on Mar. 26 to 121 months in federal prison and four years of supervised release after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

The sentencing took place in the Johnstown federal court before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to address the distribution of dangerous drugs such as fentanyl and methamphetamine in the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Court records show that between February and March 2023, Kifer conspired to distribute at least 40 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl and at least 50 grams of methamphetamine. These substances are known for their significant impact on public health due to their potency and risk for overdose.

Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon prosecuted the case. Rivetti said that the investigation was made possible through collaboration between the Drug Enforcement Administration and Pennsylvania State Police.

The successful prosecution is part of broader efforts by federal authorities to combat drug trafficking activities within local communities.
