The House Committee on Small Business announced on April 13 that it will hold a hearing titled “Lower Taxes, Stronger Main Street: The Benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts.” The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15 at 10:30 AM Eastern Time in Hearing Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The committee said the purpose of this hearing is to highlight the benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts and examine how these provisions support small business growth and expansion. The topic is relevant as tax policy can have a significant impact on small businesses and working families across the country.
Witnesses set to testify include Garrett Watson, Director of Policy Analysis at the Tax Foundation; Traci Tapani, Co-President and Owner of Wyoming Machine, Inc.; Becky Renfro Borbolla, Senior Vice President at Renfro Foods, Inc.; and Michael Negron, Senior Fellow for Economic Opportunity at the Center for American Progress. Their testimony is expected to provide different perspectives from both policy analysis organizations and business leaders.
The committee stated that this event is open to members of the public who wish to attend in person. For those unable to be present physically, a live stream will be available via the Committee’s YouTube channel.
By examining tax policies such as these cuts, lawmakers aim to understand their effect on small businesses’ ability to grow and contribute to local economies. The upcoming hearing may inform future legislative efforts related to tax relief or reform.
