CBP AMO reports joint operations involving apprehensions in Puerto Rico and international interdictions

Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a division of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, reported on recent enforcement actions through its official Twitter account.

On May 2, 2026, CBP AMO posted: "Air and Marine agents, U.S. Border Patrol agents, alongside the Puerto Rico Police Department and USCG, apprehended 42 illegal aliens early Wednesday after a “yola” type vessel landed at Survival Beach in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico." The operation involved coordination between multiple agencies including the Puerto Rico Police Department and the United States Coast Guard.

The following day, on May 3, 2026, CBP AMO shared another update: "GOT EM! Recently, a Mutli-Role Enforcement Aircraft operating in the narcotic source and transit zone detected a surface target of interest. The crew handed the target off to a MQ9 crew that worked with a foreign partner nation who effectuated a successful interdiction resulting". This tweet described an international collaboration leading to an interdiction in narcotics trafficking zones.
