Tourism to Hot Springs National Park creates $208 million in Economic Benefits

News Release: Hot Springs, Ark. - A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 2.1 million visitors to Hot Springs National Park in 2021 spent $154 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 2,200 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $208 million.

She is grateful to Park staff, the U.S. Park Police, and the team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for their excellent care. The Secretary will resume her schedule virtually this afternoon.

Department of the Interior Announces Start of Historic Rehabilitation of George Washington Memorial Parkway

News Release: WASHINGTON - National Park Service (NPS) Director Chuck Sams, Federal Highway Administration Associate Administrator for Federal Lands Tim Hess, and federal and local elected leaders today participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking for the rehabilitation of the northern section of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The approximately $161 million project is one of the largest infrastructure investments funded by the Great American Outdoors Act.

BLM to temporarily close Price Road for maintenance and re-route
