Researchers are interested in collecting data in the area to better understand the pollinators that are here and how quickly their numbers are declining. In 2010 a bumblebee was found in Fossil Butte National Monument that was only known from Boise, ID and further west. You could be part of exciting discoveries like this by volunteering to help collect data at the monument or from your own backyard.

The two-day event, featuring 120 wild horses and burros, will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 8. Adoptions will be held from noon-6 p.m. on Friday, July 8, and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, July 9.
