News Release: WASHINGTON — All Afghan nationals have departed the safe haven facility at the National Conference Center (NCC) in Leesburg, Virginia, to join communities across the United States. Our commitment to our Afghan allies is enduring and, as part of the U.S. government’s efforts to continue welcoming our Afghan allies, we are adopting a new model whereby Afghan nationals arriving will travel directly to their new communities without a safe haven stop-over in the United States.

News Release: WASHINGTON -- Florida officials waived toll collections to facilitate evacuations as local officials issued mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders in anticipation of Hurricane Ian. Anyone ordered to evacuate should do so as soon as possible. If you are not in an evacuation zone, consider sheltering in place, but know your home and its ability to withstand strong winds. Release: HOUSTON, TX - Passengers at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) continue to bring a record number of guns to the Transportation Security Administrations (TSA) security checkpoints. As of September 27th of this year, TSA officers at IAH have prevented 216 guns from making it onboard airplanes.

Release: TAMUNING, Guam - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has completed installation of two new X-ray scanners in the security checkpoint at A.B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM) on Guam. The scanners are being used to screen carry-on property of travelers departing GUM.

News Release: WASHINGTON - The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced an extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Burma for an additional 18 months, from Nov. 26, 2022, through May 25, 2024, due to extraordinary and temporary conditions in Burma that prevent individuals from safely returning.
