Council Bluffs, Iowa, Resident Sentenced for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

News Release: COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - On Sept. 14, 2015, Daniel Eugene Hannan, a 40 year-old resident of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was sentenced by Senior United States District Court Judge Robert Pratt to 120 months in prison on the charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a stolen firearm, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. Hannan was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release following the period of imprisonment.


News Release: A retired master deputy sheriff was sentenced today to 20 years in prison, to be followed by 15 years of supervised release, for receiving, distributing and possessing child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Wifredo A. USDA's Agricultural Research Service Honors Scientists of the Year

News Release: Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientist Douglas L. Karlen has been named the agency's Distinguished Senior Research Scientist of the Year for 2015 for his work in developing solutions to soil and crop management problems. Karlen, a research soil scientist at ARS' National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment in Ames, Iowa, and other ARS researchers are being honored for their scientific achievements.


News Release: PHOENIX - On Sept. 14, 2015, Richard Wayne Johnson, 49, of Surprise, Ariz., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David Campbell to 18 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for embezzling nearly $275,000 from a local union for which he served as treasurer. In June, Johnson pleaded guilty to embezzlement, forgery, and false reporting charges stemming from the embezzlement and its attempted concealment.

Belen Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Methamphetamine Trafficking Charge

News Release: ALBUQUERQUE - Darrell Ray Trammell, 65, of Belen, N.M., pleaded guilty today in federal court in Albuquerque, N.M., to a methamphetamine trafficking charge. Under the terms of his plea agreement, the government will recommend that Trammell be sentenced to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 84 months followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court.


News Release: PENSACOLA, FLORIDA - Dr. Sheila Mohammed, 55, of Pace, Florida, was sentenced yesterday afternoon to 12 months and one day in prison for seven counts of submitting false tax returns, followed by two years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $255,158 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service. The sentence was announced by Christopher P. Canova, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

California Man Sentenced To Four Years in Prison for Multi-State Fraud Against United States Post Offices

News Release: PHOENIX - Yesterday, Kaleb Matias Wiewandt, 36, of Los Angeles, Calif., was sentenced by United States District Judge Susan R. Bolton to 51-months in prison and ordered to pay $1.1 million in restitution. Wiewandt previously pled guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud for conspiring with others to steal several million postage stamps from the United States Postal Service.
