The $485 million in grants will be administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and be used toward the prevention of opioid abuse and treatment to those affected. The first round of grants was announced in April 2017.

Matthews, N.C. Man Sentenced to 16 ½ Years for His Role in Union County Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

News Release: CHARLOTTE, N.C. - United States Attorney R. Andrew Murray announced today that a Matthews, N.C. man was sentenced to 198 months in prison and five years of supervised release for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy. Nestor Javier Martin Fernandez, 37, previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Department of Energy Announces $20 Million in New Projects to Lower Cost of Power Electronics in Solar Energy Systems
