News Release: ATLANTA - Michael Miller and Melvin Goode Wentt have been sentenced for their roles in a bank fraud conspiracy involving seven defendants, over 80 fraudulently obtained auto loans, and $1.7 million in bank and credit union losses. Four other co-defendants previously pled guilty. One defendant is awaiting extradition from the United Kingdom.

Miami Man Sentenced to Two Years in Federal Prison for Aggravated Identity Theft

News Release: Gulfport, Miss. - Jorge Alberto Perez, 57, of Miami, Florida, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden to 24 months in federal prison, followed by one year of supervised release, for aggravated identity theft, announced U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst and Jere. T. Miles, Special Agent in Charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations in New Orleans. Perez was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.


News Release: United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Marshal Marshall, 37, formerly of Broken Bow, Nebraska, was sentenced Thursday in Lincoln, Nebraska, to the maximum sentence of 10 years in prison by Senior United States District Judge Richard G. Kopf. Marshall had previously entered pleas of guilty to cyberstalking. In addition to his prison sentence, Marshall will be required to serve 3 years on supervised release.


Reclamation announces the temporary closure of Haystack Reservoir recreation area

News Release: MADRAS, Ore. - The Bureau of Reclamation will temporarily close the North Shore Fishing Pier recreation area from September 9 through September 30 to perform road and parking lot paving improvements. The North Shore Fishing Pier recreation area, which is located at the Haystack Reservoir, is a free day-use area with an accessible fishing pier, parking and access to the reservoir. Haystack Reservoir is located about 10 miles south of Madras.


Fayette County Man Sentenced To 87 Months For Armed Drug Trafficking

News Release: LEXINGTON, Ky. - Marquis Benjamin Lewis, 41, of Lexington, was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison today, by United States District Judge Danny C. Reeves, after pleading guilty to possessing cocaine and mixtures of heroin and fentanyl with the intent to distribute them, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

News Release: LOS ANGELES - A federal grand jury today returned an eight-count superseding indictment that charges a Lynwood man with being the organizer and leader of a crew that committed at least 15 armed robberies of independent and “mom-and-pop" pharmacies across Southern California. The robbers allegedly stole a variety of prescription medications - in particular, oxycodone - with the intent of selling the stolen drugs on the black market.
