U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao Announces $248.5 Million in Grants to Support Railroad Infrastructure

News Release: WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao today announced the recipients of $248.5 million in grant funds under the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program, for a wide variety of state and local railroad infrastructure projects. The grants will fund 32 projects in 27 states, and will be administered by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).

Fisher, 34, of Gulf Breeze, of conspiring to use his pharmacy to defraud more than $4.8 million from TRICARE, a federal health care program for uniformed service members, retirees, and their families, and then laundering the money generated by the fraud. The guilty verdict, reached by the jury on Monday, was announced today by Lawrence Keefe, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.


Omaha Man Sentenced for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

News Release: United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Jason David Oetter, age 48, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced today in federal court in Omaha for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher sentenced Oetter to 130 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After completing his term of imprisonment, Oetter will begin a five-year term of supervised release.

Jackson sentenced Marvin Clifton, M.D., age 71, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to 18 months in federal prison following his conviction for making false statements relating to health care matters. The Court further sentenced Dr. Clifton to two years of supervised release following his term of imprisonment, and ordered him to pay a $50,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.
