Cumberland River Bridge Work, Milling and Paving on Highway 297 Underway

News Release: Maintenance and repair to Highway 297 at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area continues, with crews repairing expansion joints, milling, and paving on the Cumberland River Bridge. Milling and paving will continue on the remainder of Highway 297 within park boundaries after the bridge work is completed. It is expected that the milling/paving will conclude this fall at the east entrance.

Whale Waters Update for Glacier Bay Effective July 25, 2021

News Release: BARTLETT COVE, ALASKA - Today, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve Deputy Superintendent Tom Schaff announced a 13-knot speed limit in the Lower Glacier Bay whale waters to protect at least 17 humpback whales feeding there. Former Lincoln Correctional Officer Convicted for Distribution of Child Pornography

News Release: Acting United States Attorney Jan Sharp announced that Trevor Hansen, 30, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced today in Lincoln by United States District Judge John M. Gerrard for distribution of child pornography. Hansen was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months in prison and 6 years of supervised release with special conditions. There is no parole in the federal system. Hansen was additionally ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution.
