Statement by U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx on the Trans-Pacific Partnership

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of Transportation on Oct. 5, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

Today’s announcement on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement is welcome news for the American people, who benefit from higher-paying jobs at home, the strongest labor standards of any trade agreement in history, and critical environment commitments. The TPP strengthens our port communities and boosts our economy, and as trade relationships deepen with partners across the world, the U.S. Department of Transportation stands ready to help the flow of Made-in-America goods move more quickly and efficiently across our borders.
