June: U.S. Department of Labor publishes 58 press releases

There were 58 press releases published by the U.S. Department of Labor in June.

The most recent press release, "Departamento de Trabajo de EE.UU. recupera $98,000 para 39 trabajadores de la construcción a los que empleador de Jamul negó pago de sobretiempo," was submitted on June 30.

The U.S. Department of Labor published 51 releases the month before, marking a 13.7 percent increase for the current month.

The Department provides billions in unemployment insurance, which peaked around 2011 though spending had declined before the pandemic. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, claimed the Department funds "ineffective and duplicative services" and overregulates the workplace.

The proposed budget provides a significant boost to the DOL’s funding from $12.5 billion to $14.2 billion, a 13.6% increase.
