There were 64 press releases published by the U.S. Department of Labor in July.

The most recent press release, "US Department of Labor, Fastenal Co. enter agreement to resolve alleged hiring discrimination at High Point, North Carolina facility," was submitted on July 30.

The U.S. Department of Labor published 58 releases the month before, marking a 10.3 percent increase for the current month.

The Department provides billions in unemployment insurance, which peaked around 2011 though spending had declined before the pandemic. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, claimed the Department funds "ineffective and duplicative services" and overregulates the workplace.

The proposed budget provides a significant boost to the DOL’s funding from $12.5 billion to $14.2 billion, a 13.6% increase.
