U.S. Department of Labor publishes 79 press releases in September

There were 79 press releases published by the U.S. Department of Labor in September.

The most recent press release, "US Department of Labor finds none of the nation’s mine operations met criteria for a pattern of violations," was submitted on Sept. 30.

The U.S. Department of Labor published 73 releases the month before, marking an 8.2 percent increase for the current month.

The Department provides billions in unemployment insurance, which peaked around 2011 though spending had declined before the pandemic. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, claimed the Department funds "ineffective and duplicative services" and overregulates the workplace.

The proposed budget provides a significant boost to the DOL’s funding from $12.5 billion to $14.2 billion, a 13.6% increase.
