U.S. Secretary of Labor Acosta to Attend G7 Labor and Employment Ministerial Meeting in Turin, Italy

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta will attend the G7 Labor and Employment Ministerial meeting taking place in Turin, Italy, today and tomorrow, Sept. 29 and 30.

The G7 Labor Ministers will discuss the challenges and opportunities for workers and economies resulting from the impact of new technologies on employment. During the meeting, the ministers will engage with trade union and employer representatives, the International Labor Organization, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development with regard to the future of work.

Secretary Acosta will highlight the Administration’s commitment to job creation, addressing the skills gap, and reducing excessive regulations in order to better equip American workers with the skills they need to find good jobs in a changing employment landscape.

He will also meet bilaterally with several G7 labor ministers to discuss employment and labor issues of mutual interest and concern.
