ALBANY, OR – The U.S. Department of Labor will provide information about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act and help current and former nuclear weapons workers file claims on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, in Albany, Oregon.

Albany, OR 97321 WHEN: Tuesday, July 23, 2019 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. PDT 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. PDT The Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) administers the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act, which provides lump-sum compensation and medical benefits to current and former workers whose illness results from working at a facility involved in nuclear weapons production. Covered illnesses include radiation-induced cancer, chronic beryllium disease, beryllium sensitivity, chronic silicosis, illness due to toxic substance exposure, and more. Some survivors of eligible employees may also be entitled to compensation.
To date, eligible claimants around the country have received more than $16.5 billion in compensation and medical benefits.
