U.S. Department of Labor Announces Christopher E. Hagerup As Regional Representative for Chicago Office

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor today announced that Christopher E. Hagerup has been named Regional Representative for its Chicago Regional Office.

“The U.S. Department of Labor is committed to working with state and local governments and organizations to create more opportunities for America’s workers,” U.S. Deputy Secretary of Labor Patrick Pizzella said. “Regional Representatives ensure that our partnerships with communities throughout the region remain strong and productive while we pursue policies that encourage economic growth.” Most recently, Hagerup was Deputy Secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, a role in which he oversaw approximately 1,600 employees in more than sixty locations. He also served as a former Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the Federal Emergency Management Administration. Hagerup received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a J.D. from Drake University’s School of Law. The mission of the Department of Labor is to foster, promote, and protect the welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States; improve working conditions; advance opportunities for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights.
