Solid holiday sales are a reflection of the confidence Americans have in the U.S. economy and another indication of the strong economic momentum going into the New Year.
The economy continues to grow, jobs are being created and consumers are spending. The economy has proven to be strong and resilient. Workers, employers and consumers have risen to the challenges created by devastating hurricanes and high energy prices.
The President has an agenda for a continued strong and vibrant economy that will ensure more opportunities for America's workers and entrepreneurs by making tax relief permanent, restraining spending, reducing our dependence on foreign oil, and opening markets to American goods and services.
