Site Kicks-Off in Advance of Americas Competitiveness Forum 2008 Español WASHINGTON—In advance of the second Americas Competitiveness Forum that kicks off in Atlanta, Ga., on August 17th, the U.S. Department of Commerce Web site now features a Spanish newsroom with press releases, opinion editorials and speeches that have been translated. The newsroom replaces a separate Spanish Web site that had previously been maintained.
“To effectively communicate our message to Spanish-speaking communities, we wanted to ensure that our Web site featured newsroom content in Spanish,” Ann Marie Hauser, Press Secretary for the Department, said. “As we work to promote economic cooperation within the Western Hemisphere, it is important that we convey key messages in Spanish that will continue to build our regional competitiveness.” The Spanish newsroom is integrated into the Department’s Web site, which was re-launched last year. Click on “Noticias en español” on the www.commerce.gov home page to access the Spanish newsroom.
