U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker today issued a statement commemorating Hispanic Heritage Month.

“Hispanic Heritage Month provides an important opportunity to applaud the enduring contributions of Latinos across America. Today, there are more than 2.3 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States. These Latino entrepreneurs, business owners, and workers account for more than $350 billion in total sales annually, according to the latest data, and are twice as likely to export, which helps drive U.S. economic and job growth, competitiveness, and innovation. We at the Department of Commerce are committed to ensuring Hispanic-owned businesses have the tools they need to continue to grow and succeed in our country. As we honor the many ways Latino communities enrich our nation this month, let's commit ourselves to ensuring that future generations of Latinos – and all Americans – can achieve their dreams.”
