The Federal Reserve Board announced on Wednesday that Chairman Ben S. Bernanke will host a town hall meeting with educators from across the country on August 7. The educators will join the Chairman in the Board Room of the Federal Reserve Board's main building in Washington, D.C., and will gather in Federal Reserve Bank offices throughout the country to participate via videoconference. The Chairman will give brief remarks about the importance of personal financial education and then respond to questions from both in-person and videoconference participants. The program is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Chairman Bernanke hosted a similar town hall in September 2010.

The event will be webcast live at www.ustream.tv/channel/federalreserve. After the event, the Board will post a transcript and video recording at www.federalreserve.gov.
