Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo met with Singapore Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo for a bilateral meeting and to co-host an event promoting women’s leadership in the technology sector.

During their meeting, Secretary Raimondo and Minister Teo discussed U.S. and Singapore collaboration on the digital economy, AI, and other related priorities in the U.S.-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation. The Secretary and Minister Teo also discussed opportunities to deepen collaboration on advanced telecom and wireless technology and on cross-border data flows. The Secretary highlighted the Biden Administration’s broader objective of working with like-minded partners across the Indo-Pacific on an economic framework to advance resilience, inclusion, sustainability, and the interests of our middle classes.

Additionally, the Secretary and Minister co-hosted a discussion alongside women founders of tech startups and venture capitalists. During the event, the Secretary underscored the Department of Commerce’s commitment to helping businesses and entrepreneurs build back better and more equitably around the world.
