WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday, May 12, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will join several of her Cabinet colleagues in a panel discussion at the White House Summit on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. This year's White House Summit, held at The George Washington University, will bring together senior federal officials and community leaders and feature a variety of workshops and programs focused on progress for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. The Cabinet panel discussion will focus on agency impacts on the AAPI community and personal reflections on serving as a Cabinet official in the Obama Administration.
Held during Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, this White House Summit will convene more than 2,000 AAPI community members, business leaders, federal government employees, and the general public and will feature interactive sessions focused on economic growth, education, healthcare, civil rights and immigration. The Summit will showcase Administration policies and programs that have supported the AAPI community over the past six years and outline efforts for the next two years.
