SAN FRANCISCO, CA – On Thursday, Dec. 18, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will offer keynote remarks at the Union Agency Lecture of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Conference.
Secretary Jewell will discuss the role that sound science should play in shaping public policy, especially related to climate change and landscape-level planning. Jewell will also make a funding announcement for Interior's eight regional Climate Science Centers. After her remarks and discussion, Jewell will participate in a media availability with the AGU's Executive Director and CEO, Chris McEntee.
The AGU is a nonprofit organization of geophysicists, consisting of more than 62,000 members from nearly 140 countries.
