Border Patrol agents earlier this month were forced to rescue a man from a vehicle engulfed in flames after crashing south of McAllen, Texas.

According to a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol press release, the incident took place on Nov. 13 near Expressway 83 eastbound Frontage Road and Bentsen Road.

After agents were able to extract the man from the vehicle, personnel from the City of McAllen Fire and Police Departments arrived on the scene to render first aid to the injured man.

“While executing their border security mission within their area of responsibility, Border Patrol Agents sometimes encounter various emergency situations involving members of the general public,” said Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Patrol Agent Brian S. Hastings. “Our agents immediately took action to save the life of the man involved in the crash, preventing any further injury.”
