On Nov. 19, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force captured a suspect wanted for a Memphis, Tennessee murder, according to a press release.
Edwin Bailey allegedly shot and killed victim Richard Varnadoe at the 1600 block of Winston Street, Memphis, Tennessee on Nov. 9.
"The man killed this morning identified by his family as 42-year-old Richard Varnadoe, shot and killed in the 1600 block of Winston Dr. in Frayser. He was a father to two kids and was soon to be the father to a third," FOX 13 News anchor Dakarai Turner wrote in a Nov. 9 Twitter post.
An arrest warrant was issued for Bailey the same day for first-degree murder and the case was taken up by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Investigators with the task force obtained information that Bailey had fled to the Detroit, Michigan area. The task force coordinated with the Detroit Marshals office and through their joint efforts Bailey was safely taken into custody without incident.
"This success was achieved by our strong relationship with the Memphis Police Department, as well as our peers in Detroit," U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller said, according to the press release.
