The most recent press release, "US Department of Labor’s final rule sets limits on amount of non-tipped work tipped employees can do when tip credit applied, defines tipped work," was submitted on Oct. 28.
The U.S. Department of Labor published 79 releases the month before, marking a 29.1 percent decrease for the current month.
The Department provides billions in unemployment insurance, which peaked around 2011 though spending had declined before the pandemic. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, claimed the Department funds "ineffective and duplicative services" and overregulates the workplace.
The proposed budget provides a significant boost to the DOL’s funding from $12.5 billion to $14.2 billion, a 13.6% increase.
