Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today regarding the SolarWinds cyberattack:
“The Energy and Commerce Committee is tracking developments in the SolarWinds cyberattack, which may have far-reaching implications across the federal government and beyond. The Committee has been briefed by several agencies and departments, and is assessing the potential impacts across its broad jurisdiction, including energy, health care, and telecommunications networks.
“We will continue to closely monitor the response efforts as these agencies work to assess the scope of the compromise and take any necessary mitigation actions.
“As this Committee has repeatedly emphasized in hearings and its oversight work, ensuring the security of our federal networks is of paramount importance. This latest incident is another reminder that the federal government must remain vigilant against cyber threats.”
