Visitors to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument Twin Peaks Campground can now confirm their reservations before they arrive on Recreation.gov.
“These changes will not only make planning a trip to Organ Pipe Cactus simple and easy for our visitors, they ensure that more of our recreation fee dollars remain in the park to support projects and programs that enhance the visitor experience,” said Scott Stonum, superintendent of Organ Pipe Cactus in a National Park Service news release.
Organ Pipe Cactus is approximately 85 miles south of Interstate 8 and falls on the international border between Arizona and Mexico. Interested campers can reserve their spaces with the online reservation portal at Recreation.gov. In case a visitor arrives without a reservation, they will still have to log into Recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777 to secure their site. Both Wi-Fi and cellular service are limited at the park, park officials urge visitors to plan ahead and make reservations early.
Same-day reservations are also available. Group sites are available year-round by reservation only. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance. The Twin Peaks Campground is a 208-space campground situated close to the visitor center with a designated tent-only section and RV sites up to 40 feet. The campground offers 174 RV sites and 34 tent-only sites, a dump station with potable water, and six restrooms, three of which feature solar showers. Each row has multiple faucets of potable water.
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is an International Biosphere Reserve, as recognized by UNESCO.
