BLM Canyon Country District announces Customer Service Week on Feb. 1, 2, and 3

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Canyon Country District will host virtual Customer Service Week from Feb.1, 2, and 3 at 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. MST. The Canyon Country District includes BLM-managed public lands in Southeastern Utah, specifically those in Grand and San Juan counties. Join us to learn about BLM programs, processes, laws, and regulations for a greater understanding of our requirements and procedures. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with BLM specialists and learn more about the BLM and public lands. We hope to provide community leaders, private landowners, business owners and interested members of the public with information demonstrating how the BLM manages programs, what our objectives are, and how this work serves the public.

During Customer Service Week, BLM staff and managers will cover a variety of subjects. Topics are listed by day below:

Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 – Moab Field Office

  • NEPA and public participation
  • Recreation and wildlife habitat in Mineral and Hell Roaring Canyons
  • Recreation impacts and management
Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 – Monticello Field Office

  • Virtual Tours Highlighting Cultural resources and history
  • Stewardship Programs of Bears Ears
  • Managing the San Juan River Program
Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022 – Canyon Country District

  • Fire and fuels
There is no cost to attend, and you may participate in any of the topics that interest you. We will be using Zoom for Government to stream these sessions virtually. Each day will last no later than 12 p.m., but the virtual event may end early if the presentations are complete and questions are answered. The BLM plans to record presentations.
