BACKGROUND:

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, chaired by U.S. Senator, Barbara Boxer (D - CA), will hold a field briefing in Los Angeles to examine the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) recent decision to deny the state of California a waiver under the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles.

-Fran Pavley, Natural Resources Defense Council, Senior Climate Advisor (original author of California's Pavley Clean Car Act)
