Boxer Statement on the President’s Emissions Reduction Target for the Federal Government

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today released the following statement regarding President Obama's announcement that the federal government will reduce its greenhouse gas pollution by 28 percent in 2020:

Senator Boxer said: "By ensuring the federal government leads by example in building a clean energy future, the President is sending a clear message that action to reduce carbon emissions is good for our economy and our environment because it cuts costs and dangerous pollution at the same time."
