Senator Boxer Applauds Historic Fuel Economy Standard

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today released the following statement regarding the Obama administration's announcement that it has finalized national fuel economy and pollution standards for cars and light trucks.

Senator Boxer said: "The Obama administration's fuel economy standards for vehicles are a tremendous step forward. The historic standards will allow consumers across the country to save money, while also reducing dangerous pollution and our nation's dependence on foreign oil."
