Washington, D.C. -- Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, issued the statement below regarding the White House's report on the health impacts of climate change which was released today.

Senator Boxer said: "This report is more evidence of how climate change is harmful to human health. We have already seen what happens when you throw the environment under the bus -- just look at China, which has hazardous levels of air pollution and toxic emissions. We must take action to protect the health of our children and families from the impacts of climate change, and the President's plan to reduce dangerous carbon pollution from power plants is a critical step to protect public health and save thousands of lives."
