31 Construction and Transportation Groups Call on Senate to Pass a Six-Year Transportation Bill

The following news release was published by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Work on July 13, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. -- Today, Senators Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, and Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Ranking Member, thanked 31 national associations and construction trade unions that sent a letter to all Senators calling for a multi-year transportation bill. The letter noted that the unanimous approval of the EPW Committee's DRIVE Act should “ignite an aggressive push to complete action on a full bill this month."

Senators Inhofe and Boxer said: “This letter is a sensible yet urgent call to action. Our nation's future as an economic power is at stake. No more excuses - let us pass the six-year Environment and Public Works Committee transportation bill, and pass it now."

The full text of the letter from the Transportation Construction Coalition can be found here.
