The US Department of Agriculture announced on Jan. 27 that five individuals will be appointed for new regional director positions.
President Joe Biden intends to appoint five USDA regional positions, including four Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Executive Directors and one Rural Development (RD) State Director, according to a USDA press release.
“As we work to build a better America and advance our mission, USDA needs qualified and talented people in our regional offices," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said, according to the release. "These five individuals have the experience and talent to serve on the front lines of FSA and RD offices in their respective states. We are thrilled to have them at USDA.”
The Farm Service Agency State Director appointees include Deborah Tannenbaumn to lead Florida, Dennis McKinney to lead Kansas, Robert Andrzejaczak to lead New Jersey and Jon Wyss to lead Washington.
Glenn Pauley was the fifth appointee and will hold the title of Rural Development state director for Wyoming.
FSA State Executive Directors oversee Farm Service Agency operations and agricultural policy implementation in the state.
RD State Directors serve as the chief executive officer of Rural Development in the states and territories and are tasked with carrying out the mission of Rural Development to the benefit of everyone in rural America.
