Transportation Department publishes 41 notices in week ending Feb. 12

There were 41 notices published by the Transportation Department in week ending Feb. 12, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Notice of Submission of Proposed Information Collection to OMB Agency Request for Renewal of a Previously Approved Collection: Online Complaint/Comment Form for Service-Related Issues in Air Transportation, was submitted on February 11, 2022.

The Transportation Department published 20 the week before, marking a 105 percent increase.

The Department handles nearly all infrastructure crisscrossing the country. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department should be privatized to save money, reduce congestion and spur innovation.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
