Indiana Murder Fugitive and Wisconsin Felony Theft Fugitive Captured by U.S. Marshals Task Force

U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Jeremy Rico Etheridge, 39, on a First Degree Murder warrant out of Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as a second fugitive wanted by authorities in Wisconsin. Both were arrested in Union City, Tenn. by the U.S. Marshals Service.

On December 20, 2021, Jeremy Etheridge was allegedly involved in a fatal shooting in Indianapolis, Ind. The Marion County (Ind.) Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Etheridge for First Degree Murder. This case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service and forwarded to the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson, Tenn.

On the morning of February 11, the Task Force apprehended Etheridge on the 500 block on Nash Street in Union City, Tenn. The Task Force also encountered Eric Garrett, 64, who was with Etheridge. Marshals discovered that Garrett had an outstanding warrant for felony theft out of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Etheridge and Garrett were both apprehended without incident and are pending extradition back to their originating jurisdictions.

“We appreciate the information from the public that led to the arrest of an alleged Indiana murder fugitive and a second fugitive from Wisconsin” said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller. “When law enforcement and the community work together, our neighborhoods are safer.”

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
