In a feature story from Feb. 4, NOAA Fisheries emphasized black voices within the agency as part of their celebration of Black History Month this year, including this year's theme of "Black Health and Wellness."
"Join us in celebrating Black History Month. Learn more about some of our exceptional NOAA Fisheries employees and how their work contributes to our mission every day," said NOAA officials in the feature story.
NOAA's Black History Month story features profiles and anecdotes from black voices within the agency, including an acquisition management specialist, librarian, chief of staff, and a fisheries biologist who all contribute to NOAA's mission of ensuring sustainable fisheries, protecting marine life, and conserving habitat.
In addition to biographies for each NOAA staff member, the feature story also includes what Black History Month means to each person, what they like most about their work, and how they fill their time outside of work to recharge.
