The following press release was published by the U.S. Senate Committee On Agriculture, Nutrition, & Forestry on Dec. 11, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., today announced the Committee voted to favorably report nominee Stephen Alexander Vaden, of Tennessee, to be General Counsel of the Department of Agriculture. Mr. Vaden may now be considered by the full U.S. Senate for confirmation.

“I am pleased to report the Senate Agriculture Committee has swiftly, in a bipartisan fashion, approved another USDA nominee," Roberts said. “To best serve rural America, USDA needs all hands on deck, and our Committee is doing its part to make that happen."

The Committee held a hearing on the nominee on Nov. 9.
