WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade, chaired by Rep. Lee Terry (R-NE), will launch its new hearing series, “Our Nation of Builders," next Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The series will explore ways to make American manufacturing more competitive in the global marketplace and create jobs.
Thursday’s hearing, “Our Nation of Builders: Manufacturing in America," will examine opportunities and obstacles facing American manufacturers today. The subcommittee will hear testimony from manufacturers in the districts of subcommittee members, including representatives from 3M, Raytheon, Corning Inc., and other leading firms.
“We are a nation of builders and manufacturing remains the foundation of our economy," said Terry. “Through this hearing series, the subcommittee will look at ways to improve the manufacturing climate here in America so we can create jobs, encourage investment, and grow our economy. First, we will focus on what we make here in America, specifically in our members’ districts, so we can determine what’s driving innovation and job creation."
The Majority Memorandum, a witness list, and witness testimony will be available here as they are posted.
