E&C STUDIO PRESENTS: Bipartisan Voices to #FixSGR

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on July 30, 2013. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - This afternoon, the House Energy and Commerce Committee will begin consideration of H.R. 2810, the Medicare Patient Access and Quality Improvement Act of 2013. The bipartisan legislation is the product of more than two years of transparent work to transform the Medicare physician payment system. H.R. 2810 would repeal the flawed sustainable growth rate (SGR) system and replace it with a fair, stable, and simplified system for payments. Instead of looming annual cuts, physicians will be rewarded for the quality of care they provide to America’s seniors. Rather than relying on Washington, this bill seeks the input of expert medical organizations for developing the quality measures. Leading health care stakeholder organizations and members of Congress have expressed their support for the legislation.
