WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today advanced a package of bipartisan, commonsense bills that will collectively help improve public health, cut red tape, and encourage energy development. The committee approved the following bills by voice vote:
H.R. 3527, the Poison Center Network Act, authored by Rep. Lee Terry (R-NE), which will reauthorize important activities related to poison control centers.
H.R. 1098, the Traumatic Brain Injury Reauthorization Act, authored by Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ), which reauthorizes programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to track and reduce the incidence of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and to provide support programs for TBI patients and their families.
H.R. 3683, authored by committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Ranking Member Henry A. Waxman (D-CA), which amends the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 to strengthen the collaboration between the United States and Israel on energy development.
H.R. 724, authored by Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH), which amends the Clean Air Act to eliminate the unnecessary requirement for auto dealers provide certification of emissions standards compliance for new light-duty motor vehicles.
“We have had many successes, and I am pleased to report that four out of the last ten laws signed by the president were products of the Energy and Commerce Committee.
