WASHINGTON, DC - The House Energy and Commerce Committee today announced its hearing schedule for the week of June 16, 2014. The committee will continue its investigation into the General Motors ignition switch recall and review EPA’s proposed power plant regulations.
On Wednesday, the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will continue its investigation of General Motors with testimony from GM CEO Mary Barra and the head of the internal investigation Anton Valukas. In March, the committee opened an investigation to examine General Motors Company’s and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) response to consumer complaints related to stalling, airbag non-deployment, and ignition switch problems.as they are posted.
On Thursday, the Energy and Power Subcommittee will review EPA’s recently proposed greenhouse gas regulations for power plants. Members will question EPA Assistant Administrator Janet McCabe about the details of EPA’s power plant proposal and its effect on jobs, the economy, and the environment.as they are posted.
