WASHINGTON, DC - The House Energy and Commerce Committee today announced its hearing schedule for the week of January 19. The committee will continue its work to ensure open Internet protections for consumers, discuss solutions to #KeepthePromise and protect seniors’ access to Medicare physicians, and consider the next steps for coal ash regulation.
On Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will hold a hearing to discuss draft legislation that would enact clear rules of the road for the Internet to protect consumers and innovation. The Majority Memorandum, draft legislation, and witness testimony will be made available at the same link as they are posted.
Also on Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Health will continue its efforts to find a permanent solution to the flawed SGR formula. The two-day hearing will begin Wednesday and continue on Thursday. Subcommittee members will discuss how to bring SGR reform to the president’s desk before the current patch expires at the end of March 2015.
On Thursday, the Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy will examine EPA’s recently issued rule regulating the disposal of coal ash and discuss the need for legislation to provide the clarity that job-creators need. The members are expected to hear from EPA and a panel of stakeholders.
